Nottingham Forest squander lead to lose at home

Nottingham Forest's search for a win continues as they lose 3-1 at home to Blackburn Rovers.

Nottingham Forest's search for a win continues after they threw away a one-goal lead to lose 3-1 at home to Blackburn Rovers this afternoon.

Ryan Tunnicliffe was busy in the opening stages and dragged a shot wide from 20 yards in the fourth minute.

Following Tunnicliffe's poor strike, the game entered a lull with neither side able to create any clear openings for a while.

Ben Marshall attempted to spark proceedings into life with a driving run, but after beating two players his strike hit a defender and looped behind for corner.

Forest began to forge chances of their own in the latter stages of the half, with Britt Assombalonga seeing his shot blocked.

His strike partner Matty Fryatt then saw his effort charged down and Michail Antonio blazed the follow-up over the bar as it looked as though the half was going to end goalless.

However, in the 37th minute Fryatt turned the ball home after Assombalonga's long-range effort had cannoned back off the post.

However, the game was turned on its ahead during a madcap 11 minutes in the second half to leave Forest reeling.

First, Alex Baptiste got Blackburn back on level terms after he pounced on Karl Darlow's mistake, and then Rudy Gestede put the visitors ahead with a header.

With Forest still rocking, Jordan Rhodes put the game beyond doubt with a composed finish after Michael Mancienne's mistake to leave Staurt Pearce's side without a win in their last seven games.
