Nottingham Forest chairman urges patience over managerial appointment

Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi insists that he will take his time in appointing a new manager following the sacking of Billy Davies.

Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has revealed that he wants to take his time in appointing a new manager following the sacking of Billy Davies.

Davies was relieved of his duties on Monday, bringing an end to the Scot's second spell in charge at the club.

While speculation has linked Neil Warnock with the vacancy at the City Ground, Al Hasawi has put academy coach Gary Brazil in temporary charge for Tuesday's game against Charlton Athletic.

"I am aware many people expect me to announce a new manager imminently, however I must stress the need for patience as I make the important decision of who takes the reins at this crucial stage of the season," the Kuwaiti businessman told the club's official website.

"Supporters can rest assured the local and national press will have regular access to whoever is appointed as our new manager as, with immediate effect, any bans imposed on members of the media are lifted. I hope the club can now look forward to enjoying a positive relationship with the press."

Forest are currently in seventh place in the Championship table, two points adrift of the playoff places.
