Chris Burke praises "sharp" Nottingham Forest display

Nottingham Forest midfielder Chris Burke praises the team for putting in a "sharp" display during Saturday's 2-0 win over Blackpool in their Championship opener.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Chris Burke has praised the team for their "sharp" performance during Saturday's victory over Blackpool in the Championship.

Forest made sure that they started the season on a winning note as they beat the Seasiders 2-0 at the City Ground.

Michail Antonio opened the scoring for the home side on 25 minutes before fellow summer signing Burke added a second five minutes later.

"We were very sharp, got the goals early on and I thought we dominated, especially in the first 45 minutes," Burke told the club's official website.

"It's virtually impossible to dominate for 90 minutes but when you're on top you have to make sure you score and, when you're not on top, you have to make sure you don't concede. We did that and we got the three points we were looking for."

Forest are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Tranmere Rovers in the first round of the League Cup.
