Report: Norwich City, Southampton in battle over Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly

Norwich City are preparing to battle Southampton for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Partenopei from Belgian side Genk last summer, is thought to have struggled to adapt to life in Italy and is looking to move on.

According to The Mirror, Saints manager Ronald Koeman was in advanced talks to bring Koulibaly to St Mary's for £8m, but the promoted Canaries are ready to hijack the negotiations.

Koulibaly, who can play as a centre-back, right-back or defensive midfielder, is a former France Under-20 international.
