Kyle Lafferty: 'I may have to leave Norwich City ahead of Euro 2016'

Kyle Lafferty admits that he may have to leave Norwich City to get regular football ahead of Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 campaign.

Kyle Lafferty has revealed that he may have to leave Norwich City if he is unable to gain regular first-team football ahead of Euro 2016.

The 28-year-old played a vital role in helping Northern Ireland to the competition in France next year, scoring seven goals to guide the nation to their first major tournament since 1986.

However, Lafferty has only featured twice for Norwich this season, and has admitted that he may have paid the price for missing out on their promotion push in the last campaign when he was out on loan at Caykur Rizespor.

Lafferty is quoted as saying by The Mirror: "I took an option to go out on loan in the second half of last season and maybe it's backfired. It put me out of the picture for a while.

"The only thing I can do is keep scoring goals for my country and make an impact for Norwich. If it is time to leave I'll take the opportunity.

"There's no point in me sitting in the stands or playing for 15 minutes when there's a massive tournament coming."

Lafferty joined the Canaries in 2014.
