Norwich City manager Paul Lambert has revealed that he visited ill Aston Villa midfielder Stiliyan Petrov last week.
The Bulgarian is currently sidelined from playing action after he was diagnosed with acute leukaemia in March.
Lambert teamed with the 32-year-old during his time at Celtic and has told BBC Radio Norfolk of how he visited him ahead of the Canaries clash with Villa on Sunday.
"I was with him last Friday night. He is doing great. He was probably one of the fittest lads that I ever set eyes on, the way he played was non-stop for 90 minutes," said Lambert.
"Hopefully, he'll beat it and my thoughts are with him."
Lambert has been manager of Norwich since 2009 and led the club to consecutive promotions on their way back to the Premier League.
