Paul Lambert describes Norwich's performance on their return to the Premier League as a "fairytale".

Paul Lambert has described Norwich City's first season back in the Premier League as 'a fairtyale story'.

The Canaries have enjoyed an excellent campaign, staying well clear of the relegation zone throughout and currently sit 14th in the table, with a top-half finish still a possibility.

Manager Lambert has acknowledged what an achievement that is for a club who were playing in the third tier of English football just two years ago.

"If you are talking fairytale football this is the story that has happened over the past three years, to go from the bottom of League One to sustaining it in the Premier League," he said.

"They have got 43 points, hopefully we can get a few more, but in the cold light of day it has been incredible.

"I never really think about myself. I have always said the most important people at the club are the players and the people who come and watch. I get great satisfaction from that and for the backroom staff."

Norwich travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal in Premier League action on Saturday.
