Grant Holt reveals that he is delighted to have extended his contract with Norwich City.

Captain Grant Holt has spoken of his delight at signing a new contract with Norwich City.

The striker appeared to be heading for the Carrow Road exit door as the two parties failed to reach an agreement over fresh terms at the end of last season.

However, new manager Chris Hughton has managed to convince the 31-year-old to stay put by offering a deal that has given the former Shrewsbury Town man's family some "security".

"I'm really pleased we've agreed things and that I've got a three-year deal which gives me and my family a bit of security," he told the club's official website. "I do appreciate where the club was coming from in terms of the process we've gone through to get to this point.

"Now I'm just really keen to concentrate on getting back to work with the rest of the lads and concentrating on having a good pre-season and getting ready for the start of another season in the Premier League."

Holt joined the Canaries in 2009 and has gone on to score 60 league goals.
