Neil Adams: 'Norwich City passed promotion test with Brentford win'

Norwich manager Neil Adams believes that their 3-0 win at in-form Brentford, which took them to the Championship summit, was a good test of their promotion credentials.

Norwich City manager Neil Adams believes that their 3-0 victory at Brentford on Tuesday evening was a display of their Championship promotion credentials.

The Canaries scored three second-half goals to beat the newly-promoted Bees, who had won their two previous games, and climb to the top of the table.

Adams feels that the scoreline at Griffin Park slightly flattered his side, but was nonetheless delighted with how Norwich passed what he thinks was a good test of their chances of returning to the Premier League.

He told reporters: "We've been tested to the limit, and it was a good test of character. I said at half time I felt we could win the game and our quality would shine through.

"It's a bit unfair on Brentford, it looks like they've been battered but it was a lot closer than that. We've scored three different goals which is very pleasing, and it's nice that the goals are being spread around.

"You have to start the season well so from our point of view we are delighted with our start. You don't get anything in September but if you ask me where I'd rather be, it's at the top."

Cameron Jerome scored a brace to add to Nathan Redmond's earlier strike to earn Norwich the three points.
