Preview: Zimbabwe vs. Nigeria

Sports Mole looks ahead to the third-place game at the African Nations Championship between Zimbabwe and Nigeria.

Zimbabwe and Nigeria will play for third place at the Africa Nations Championship after losing their semi-finals.

Both nations were eliminated in penalty shootouts after playing to goalless draws in the last four yesterday.

Nigeria recovered from a loss to Mali in their opening game to progress from the group stages, scoring 12 goals in four matches before booking their semi-final spot.

Rabiu Ali and Ejike Uzoenyi have both been in strong goal-scoring form in this tournament, each netting three times so far.

However, the Super Eagles will be without Kwabena Adusei for Saturday's match, after he was sent off during the defeat to Ghana.

Zimbabwe, who were the runners-up in Group B, will have their full squad available for the third-place match.

The Warriors have been tough defensively so far in this tournament, conceding just one goal in their five matches to date.

However, their forwards will need to up their game, having found the target only three times so far.
