Fabrice Muamba reveals that it could be possible for him to make a sensational return to football after being forced to retire due to the cardiac arrest he suffered last season.

Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Mumaba has revealed that he could return to the pitch at some point in the future, despite suffering a cardiac arrest last season.

The 24-year-old collapsed at White Hart Lane during an FA Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur and after his miraculous recovery he was advised to retire from football.

"Maybe in two years if I go for a check-up and my heart rhythm comes back to normality, we'll see if anyone wants to take me on," Muamba told BBC Radio Manchester.

"I really don't know [if it will be possible to return]. It all depends on my heart rhythm and how it heals. If it comes back to normality, we'll see what the specialist says regarding me playing again. But at this present moment, I just have to take it easy and spend time with my family."

Muamba's heart stopped for 78 minutes following the incident.
