FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke denies any wrongdoing following 90-day ban

FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke "unequivocally" denies any wrongdoing after being suspended for 90 days.

FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke has "unequivocally denied" any wrongdoing after being suspended by the world governing body's Ethics Committee for 90 days.

The 55-year-old, along with FIFA president Sepp Blatter and UEFA president Michel Platini, have been banned following an investigation into corruption allegations.

Valcke was already on leave for allegations relating to the sale of World Cup tickets, but has now been issued with a ban from all football-related activity.

In a statement, the general secretary wrote: "Jerome Valcke has unequivocally denied the false allegation made against him. He is confident that when all the facts come out, it will be clear that he did absolutely nothing wrong or improper in carrying out his duties for the good of FIFA and the sport."

Blatter is also the subject of a criminal investigation in relation to a "disloyal" £1.3m payment handed to Platini in 2011.
