Thibaut Courtois: 'Chelsea on the right path'

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois believes that beating teams such as Crystal Palace will give his side a good chance of being crowned Premier League champions.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has claimed that victories such as Saturday's over Crystal Palace will give the team a good chance of winning the Premier League title this season.

The Blues maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign as goals from Oscar and Cesc Fabregas saw them come away from Selhurst Park with a 2-1 win.

With Chelsea currently sitting five points clear at the top of the table, Courtois believes that he and his teammates need to dispatch of sides like Palace to remain in the hunt for silverware.

"For the first five or six minutes, until we scored the goal, they were dangerous, but from then we controlled the game," he told the club's official website. "When they scored there were still four minutes to play, and you never know what can happen. Maybe we should have kept a clean sheet but we played well.

"To win the league it's important to win your away games, against teams like Crystal Palace. If you're not doing that it's really hard to be champions. We are doing that so hopefully we can continue."

Chelsea continue their Champions League campaign on Tuesday with the visit of Maribor.
