Jerome Champagne proposes orange cards

Jerome Champagne, who is due to run for the FIFA presidency in 2015, wants orange cards and sin bins introduced in football.

FIFA presidential candidate Jerome Champagne has suggested that referees will have the option to brandish orange cards should he become the organisation's leader.

The former French diplomat confirmed earlier today that he intends to run for the presidency in 2015.

Among a number of his proposals, Champagne would like to see the introduction of an orange card, which would see the offending player spend some time in a sin bin for "in-between fouls committed in the heat of the moment".

Champagne has also previously stated that he would like to see a rule implemented that would mean only captains can approach match officials to discuss decisions.
