Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is thought to be looking at Norwegian international midfielder Jo Inge Berget as an addition to his squad.
Berget has impressed scouts at Newcastle with a string of impressive performances for Molde and could be subject to a January move to the Premier League, according to The Sun.
The 22-year-old signed for Udinese as a teenager but never made an appearance for the Italian giants.
Berget claimed his maiden cap for Norway earlier this year, and could cost Pardew a fee in the region of £2m if he chooses to bolster his options in the New Year.
