Udinese winger Diego Fabbrini will be allowed to leave the Italian club on loan in January.

Newcastle United have been given the green light to move for Udinese winger Diego Fabbrini after the Italian club revealed that he will be allowed to depart the club on loan.

Fabbrini, 22, has been strongly linked with a move to the Magpies in the winter window and according to Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo, the youngster can depart on a temporary basis.

"He wants to play more regularly, but the coach can only pick 11 players," Pozzo told Il Messaggero Veneto.

"If he wants to go and play somewhere else then we'll send him out on loan, but we'll never sell him outright because we believe in him."

Pozzo has made just seven league appearances for the club this season.
