Newcastle United offer Sammy Ameobi new contract

Newcastle United announce that they have offered a new deal to winger Sammy Ameobi, but will allow Jak Alnwick, Adam Campbell and Remie Streete to leave the club.

Newcastle United have confirmed that they have offered a new contract to winger Sammy Ameobi.

The 23-year-old made 25 appearances for the Magpies in the Premier League last season and scored two goals to help the club avoid relegation to the Championship.

The club have rewarded his form by offering a new deal to extend his stay at St James' Park, although they have released fellow academy graduates Jak Alnwick, Adam Campbell and Remie Streete.

Jonas Gutierrez and Ryan Taylor will also not have their contracts renewed, while Facundo Ferreyra will return to Shakhtar Donetsk following the end of his loan spell on Tyneside.
