Newcastle United are reportedly interested in a summer move for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Max Kilman.
The Magpies are currently enjoying a successful campaign, as they prepare to face Manchester United in the EFL Cup final on Sunday.
They are also chasing Champions League football and occupy fifth place in the Premier League table - one point adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played a game more.
One of the key factors behind Newcastle's success has been their strong backline, with the Magpies boasting the best defensive record in the top flight.
A defence which has largely featured Sven Botman and Fabian Schar as the two centre-backs has only conceded 15 goals in 23 league games this season.

However, with Jamaal Lascelles set to depart the club in the summer amid interest from Nottingham Forest, Newcastle are keen to bolster their backline.
According to Football Insider, the Magpies are targeting a move for Kilman, who has a contract until June 2026 with an option for a further year.
Kilman, who is eligible to play for England, Ukraine and Russia, has made 94 appearances for Wolves since joining the club from non-league Maidenhead United in 2018.
The 25-year-old has been a key figure in the Wolves side this season, playing every minute of the club's 24 Premier League games.

After drawing 1-1 with Fulham on Friday evening, Julen Lopetegui's side remain in a relegation battle, sitting just three points above the drop zone.
While Wolves may be reluctant to part ways with Kilman, Newcastle could present the defender with the opportunity to play European football.
Eddie Howe's side will be guaranteed at least a place in the Europa Conference League if they beat Man United in the EFL Cup final on Sunday.
Newcastle have not been involved in a domestic cup final since May 1999, and they will be aiming to win the League Cup for the first time in their history.
