Newcastle United predicted XI vs. Brentford: Possible starting lineup for Eddie Howe's side in key Premier League clash

Who will support Isak? How Howe could line up Magpies against Brentford on Wednesday

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Newcastle United could line up for Wednesday's Premier League clash against Brentford.

Eddie Howe could be facing a selection dilemma in the backline when his Newcastle United side take on Brentford at St James' Park on Wednesday.

Centre-backs Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman have both been ruled out due to injury, though at the very least Fabian Schar, Dan Burn are available.

Left-back Lewis Hall is not scheduled to make his comeback from an ankle issue until June, and that may lead to Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento being stationed on the flanks of a back four.

Sandro Tonali, Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes dominated Liverpool's midfield in the EFL Cup final on March 16, and they are certain to feature again on Wednesday.

However, Howe will still not be able to select winger Anthony Gordon - who has not made an appearance since March 2 against Brighton & Hove Albion - due to a hip injury.

Harvey Barnes is likely to retain his place on the left side of attack, while Jacob Murphy's good form for the Magpies should see him earn another start.

Up front, Newcastle's attack will be geared towards getting the best out of talisman Alexander Isak, who will hope to add to his tally of 19 Premier League goals.

Newcastle United possible starting lineup: Pope; Trippier, Schar, Burn, Livramento; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; Murphy, Isak, Barnes
