Former Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce believes that the Magpies will be able to avoid relegation this season from the Premier League.

Former Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce believes that the club will avoid relegation.

The 61-year-old was in charge of the Magpies from 2019 until October of last year, when he was fired and eventually replaced by the current boss Eddie Howe.

"Newcastle is gone. It is a chapter of my football life. I want them to do well under Eddie. In a few years, they might think finishing 12th and 13th might not have been so bad after all," Bruce told the press.

"I think Newcastle will stay up. Nothing has changed, though they've added a fair few to their squad. I wish them the best of luck."

Bruce has recently returned to the game in order to take over as the new manager of West Bromwich Albion, replacing Valerien Ismael.

The veteran coach will take charge of the club for the first time on Wednesday when the Baggies face Sheffield United in the Championship.
