Fabricio Coloccini turns down Newcastle United job?

Fabricio Coloccini tells Newcastle United that he does not want to become manager of the club if Alan Pardew leaves, according to a report.

Fabricio Coloccini has reportedly told Newcastle United that he does not want to become manager if Alan Pardew leaves the club.

Pardew is expected to be named the new boss of Crystal Palace on a four-year deal after the two Premier League clubs agreed a compensation package.

Despite uncertainty over the coaching badges that he holds, Argentine defender Coloccini was reportedly identified as a successor to Pardew.

Coloccini is said to have had support within Newcastle because of his strong relationship with club owner Mike Ashley.

However, the 32-year-old met with club bosses on Tuesday morning to say that he is not interested in taking over from Pardew, according to The Independent.

Coloccini was signed by Kevin Keegan for £10.3m from Deportivo La Coruna in 2008.
