Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association for elbowing Everton's Seamus Coleman on Sunday at St James' Park.
Television replays showed the Senegalese striker swinging his elbow in the direction of Coleman's face as the two players tussled in the penalty area.
The incident happened while Everton were leading 1-0 in the first half and before Cisse scored Newcastle's equaliser in the 33rd minute to start a 3-2 come-from-behind victory.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez spoke after the game on the incident and said that it was "unacceptable" to have gone unpunished.
Cisse, who has a prolific record for the Magpies this season with nine goals in 13 Premier League appearances, has until 6pm tomorrow to respond to the charge.
