Team News: Robin van Persie starts for Netherlands against Hungary

Robin van Persie will start for the Netherlands against Hungary in the World Cup qualifier.

Robin van Persie will start in attack as the Netherlands look to maintain their unbeaten record through FIFA World Cup qualifying.

The United star, who has struggled for fitness in recent weeks, was picked by manager Louis van Gaal with former Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt left on the bench.

Krisztian Nemeth, another player who was on the books of the Anfield club, leads the Magyars front line while Bolton Wanderers keeper Adam Bogdan also starts.

Although the Netherlands have already sealed qualification for next summer's World Cup, a win may improve their chances of being seeded at the tournament as they currently lie outside the top eight positions in the FIFA rankings.

Hungary know that a win will improve their chances of a playoff spot as they are only one point ahead of both Turkey and Romania in Group D.
