Napoli have reportedly made contact with Inter Milan over the possibility of a transfer for unwanted striker Mauro Icardi.
Despite finishing last season as Inter's top goalscorer, the Argentine has been told to find a new club as he does not fit manager Antonio Conte's vision.
Conte has placed strong emphasis on securing the signature of Romelu Lukaku as a replacement, although Juventus have recently emerged as favourites to sign the striker.
According to Calciomercato, Napoli chairman Aurelio de Laurentiis has held a meeting with CEO Beppe Marotta in Milan on Tuesday to discuss a potential move.
Juventus, who have reportedly sold Moise Kean to Everton, are in the market for a striker and have also established an interest in Icardi.
Napoli have enjoyed a busy transfer window so far, signing nine players - including Kostas Manolas and Alex Meret - for a combined total of £81m.
