Edinson Cavani's mother reveals that her son wants to leave Napoli.

Edinson Cavani has his heart set on a move away from Napoli, according to his mother Berta Gomez.

The Uruguayan, who has scored 22 goals in 29 games in Serie A this season, has reportedly been targeted by a number of clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid and Manchester City.

However, Gomez revealed that she is trying to convince her son to stay at the Stadio San Paolo.

"He told me he wants to go elsewhere and to leave Napoli, but also that one day he'd love to return to Napoli," she told Uruguayan station Radio Salto Entretiemp. "Edi doesn't know what will happen yet.

"Naples is a city that lives for football. The affection of the people is marvellous and I have always told my son, 'you can go anywhere, but nobody will love you like they do at Napoli'."

The 26-year-old has a reported €63 (£53m) release clause in his contract with Partenopei.
