Napoli open talks with Gennaro Gattuso as they look at him as a possible replacement for current manager Carlo Ancelotti, according to a report.

Napoli have reportedly opened talks with Gennaro Gattuso as they look at him as a possible replacement for current manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Partinopei are winless in eight games across all competitions and they could sack the former Bayern Munich boss after next week's Champions League game with Genk.

There are currently a number of issues behind the scenes at Napoli, with owner Aurelio De Laurentiis recently threatening to take legal action against the club's players.

Football Italia reports that the Blues have opened talks with former AC Milan coach Gattuso, who has been out of work since leaving the Rossoneri in May.

Ancelotti, who guided Napoli to second place in Serie A in his first season with the club, has won 37 of his 71 games in charge.
