Napoli docked two points after match-fixing investigation

Napoli are docked two Serie A points after they were found to be 'objectively responsible' during a match-fixing investigation.

Serie A side Napoli have been found guilty of being 'objectively responsible' after three players were handed bans for match-fixing.

Napoli have been docked two Serie A points that sees them drop to fifth place in the league table after goalkeeper Matteo Gianello was banned for three years after being found guilty of attempting to fix a match in 2010.

Paolo Cannavaro and Gianluca Grava have also been banned for six months for failing to report the match-fixing attempt after it was alleged that Gianello asked both players to participate.

Napoli, Cannavaro and Grava have stated their intentions to appeal against the verdict.

Gianello is no longer with the club.
