Agent: 'Amadou Diawara is prepared to wait for Napoli chance'

The agent of Amadou Diawara plays down suggestions that the Napoli midfielder is unhappy with his lack of first-team football this season.

The agent of Amadou Diawara has played down suggestions that the Napoli midfielder is unhappy with his lack of first-team football this season.

The 19-year-old joined Napoli from Bologna in the summer transfer window, but has not yet made a first-team appearance for the Italian giants.

It had been claimed that the Guinea-born midfielder was unsettled in Naples, but his agent Daniele Piraino has insisted that the teenager has no problem waiting for his chance.

"Napoli's an important club and it's certainly not San Marino, so staying on the bench for a few games isn't a problem," the representative told ItaSportPress. "It's clear that he wants to play to repay the coach's faith and the club for making an important investment, but [Maurizio] Sarri knows when to use him.

"The lad can't wait to play, but the coach will decide. If he's sent onto the field tomorrow, it'll be an opportunity to showcase himself and help out the team.

"In hindsight, we'd always make the same choice of signing for Napoli, and it seems clear to me that Amadou is happy to have reached the slopes of the Vesuvius. He has settled in very well and has a good relationship with the fans, Sarri and all the technical staff."

Diawara represented San Marino between 2014 and 2015 before making the move to Bologna.
