Millwall's manager insists that Millwall should target the Championship playoffs next season.

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett has said that next season's target for the club should be the top six if they see off relegation with a win against Derby County on Saturday.

Jackett said that the closeness of the league as a whole suits smaller sides more than bigger ones, which means that Millwall should be aiming for the playoffs in future.

"It's a high points total and should we finish the job on Saturday we'll all be looking how far we are from the playoffs and seeing if we can make it up," Sky Sports News quotes Jackett as saying.

"Cardiff have been outstanding and Hull City and Watford have been very good but after that it's hard to call and hard to predict. Almost every side after that has been on long runs without winning.

"It's very tight and very competitive and as one of the smaller clubs in the division I see that as an advantage. Over the summer we will work hard to find that formula to get us in the top six and ultimately into the Premier League."

Millwall are currently on a run of four games without a win.
