The first real opening came in the 18th minute when Millwall's Josh Wright collected a pass from Andy Keogh and let fly, but it fizzed just over Julian Speroni's crossbar.
Moments later Palace's top scorer Glenn Murray missed the visitors' best chance of the early stages, firing Wilfried Zaha's cross wide.
Millwall were forced into an early change when Martyn Woolford replaced a hobbling James Henry in the 20th minute.
Tonight's game is the two clubs' match in hand on all the other sides in the second tier. If Millwall win, it will guarantee their survival, while three points for Palace will assure them of a spot in the playoffs.
