Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis confirms that Ben Gibson is heading for Burnley in a £15m deal.

Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis has confirmed that Ben Gibson is joining Burnley after the two clubs agreed a £15m deal on Friday.

Burnley are understood to have had two separate bids rejected for the centre-back before agreeing a deal with Boro.

Gibson came through the youth system at the Riverside Stadium, and has made over 200 appearances since breaking into the first team.

Following Boro's 2-2 draw with Millwall in the Championship on Saturday afternoon, Pulis confirmed that the deal would go through over the weekend.

"He's going, it's agreed, it's done and we want to thank Ben, an absolutely fantastic professional," Pulis told reporters.

"In the six months I've had at this football club he's as good a professional as I've ever worked with and I spoke to Sean Dyche and Dychey's got a real, top, top player.

"I think it'll go through over the weekend, I think it's all done, I think everybody has agreed it and it's just a case of him doing his medical and then that will be it."

Gibson could make his Burnley debut in their Premier League opener against Southampton next weekend.
