Kei Kamara "ready for a challenge"

Middlesbrough's new signing Kei Kamara has insisted that he is prepared for life in the Championship.

The Sierra Leone international spent part of last season on loan with Norwich City in the Premier League, but the Canaries opted not to sign him on a permanent basis and instead he returned to MLS side Sporting Kansas City.

However, having returned to England with Boro following his move last night, the 29-year-old has revealed that he is "ready for a challenge".

"I played a game on Saturday, got on a plane on Sunday and now I'm here on Monday so it's been a long couple of days but now I'm delighted to be here," he told the club's official website.

"I've heard playing in the Championship is a lot harder than the Premier League but I'm always ready for a challenge so I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully my own style and way of playing will help the team out."

Kamara had been Sporting's leading goalscorer in each of the last three seasons.
