James Husband has returned to Middlesbrough after three months on loan at fellow Championship side Huddersfield Town.
The 22-year-old left-back featured 12 times for the Terriers, helping to steer them away from the relegation scrap, and could now feature during Boro's run-in as they push on for promotion.
"James performed well for us during his four months at the club," Huddersfield manager David Wagner told the club's website. "He has really helped us at a time when we needed a second specialist left-back in our group.
"His attributes fitted our style and identity on the pitch. He now has to go back to Middlesbrough as we cannot keep him for any longer and I'd like to wish him the best of luck."
Husband claimed an assist in his final game for Town, setting up Jamie Paterson for their first in a 2-2 draw with Hull City.
