Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Lyon vs. Monaco

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Lyon vs. Monaco.

Metz vs. Lille (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Looking to extend their winning run in the top flight to three matches, Metz will welcome Champions League-chasing Lille to Stade Saint-Symphorien on Sunday afternoon in Ligue 1.

The Grenats secured a much-needed narrow success at the home of Le Havre last time out, whilst Les Dogues fell to an unexpected defeat away at Monaco.

We say: Metz 1-3 Lille

Metz have hit a purple patch of form to lift themselves out of the drop zone, however we cannot envisage Les Grenats making it three straight wins on Sunday.

Lille have no more distractions in their pursuit of Champions League football and we feel that Les Dogues will be comfortable winners this weekend.

Strasbourg vs. Nice (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Looking to get back to winning ways following defeat last time out, Strasbourg will welcome Champions League-chasing Nice to Stade de la Meinau in Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon.

Le Racing were narrowly defeated at the home of top-three hopefuls Lille last time out, whilst Les Aiglons secured a point away at Marseille during their most-recent fixture.

We say: Strasbourg 1-2 Nice

Strasbourg failed to find the net last time out, and although we believe that they will have more luck on Sunday, we feel that Le Racing are heading towards another defeat.

Nice earned a respectable point at Marseille last weekend, meaning we reckon that they will go one better in this one.

Lorient vs. Toulouse (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Lorient play host to Toulouse on Sunday afternoon looking for the win that could move them outside of the Ligue 1 relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Toulouse make the trip to Stade du Moustoir searching for the victory that would secure their top-flight status for another 12 months.

We say: Lorient 1-2 Toulouse

Although Lorient may benefit from having home advantage on Sunday, we cannot ignore that Toulouse are currently one of the form teams in the division. We feel that will continue on Sunday, the visitors battling their way to another maximum points.

Clermont vs. Reims (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Bottom of Ligue 1 Clermont Foot will be desperate for victory when they face Stade de Reims on Sunday afternoon with the hosts staring down the barrel of relegation.

The home side are seven points adrift of safety with just four games left to play, while the visitors are looking for wins of their own as they hope to make a late charge for the European qualification places.

We say: Clermont 0-2 Reims

Clermont have only managed victory on four occasions this term and come up against a Reims side who are looking to make a late charge towards the European places, leading us to believe the visitors will win this one.

The home team have struggled for goals throughout the season and we expect this to continue against Will Still's men, predicting they will fail to find the back of the net for the 14th time this campaign.

Rennes vs. Brest (Sunday, 4.05pm)

With just four games of the season remaining, a key battle in the fight at the top end of the Ligue 1 table will take place at Roazhon Park on Sunday, as Rennes welcome Brest.

The hosts require a victory to keep any hopes of continental qualification alive this term, while their visitors will bid to defend their top-three spot following consecutive losses.

We say: Rennes 2-1 Brest

Despite enjoying an impressive campaign, Brest appear to have lost a degree of momentum in their Champions League bid, and while that may be down to a tough run of fixtures, they face another difficult test at the weekend against a Rennes side rejuvenated by an important victory last time out, and we back the hosts to make it consecutive three-point hauls on Sunday as a result.

Lyon vs. Monaco (Sunday, 6.00pm)

Aiming to take a step closer to sealing a top-three finish in the Ligue 1 table, Monaco will travel to the Parc Olympique Lyonnais to meet Lyon on Sunday.

With four games left to play, the visitors sit second thanks to three straight wins with a six-point lead over fourth place in the race for Champions League qualification, while their hosts dropped to ninth spot following a defeat last time out.

We say: Lyon 1-1 Monaco

Lyon's form in recent months has certainly been that of a side fighting around the top of the division with Monaco, had it been maintained throughout, and we anticipate an even contest on Sunday as a result.

The visitors travel with plenty of momentum in their bid to cement second place, but they may have to settle for a share of the points at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

Marseille vs. Lens (Sunday, 8.00pm)

The final match of a bumper-to-bumper gameweek 31 in Ligue 1 will see Marseille taking on Lens at the Orange Velodrome on Sunday evening.

This is a crucial fixture in the race for continental football next season, with the visitors currently holding the final European spot while the hosts are just five points behind them.

We say: Marseille 2-2 Lens

This will be a very tricky fixture for the hosts to navigate. Not only are they facing a top-six side, but they are also just four days out from a crucial Europa League semi-final first-leg clash against Atalanta, and based on their recent performances, Gasset seems to have made the continental competition his side's primary focus, which could work in Lens' favour here. We feel this one will end level at the final whistle.
