Manchester United will reportedly try to lure Gareth Bale away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Bale was recently crowned the PFA Player of the Year and also scooped the Young Player of the Year award, and has scored 20 goals for Spurs in the Premier League this season.
The Welshman's form has reportedly attracted the interest of Real Madrid, but United are ready to launch a bid of their own, according to The Mirror.
The club's owners, the Glazer family, have given manager Sir Alex Ferguson permission to make a marquee signing this summer and the Scot has identified Bale as the man to help the club retain their Premier League title next season.
The report also claims that United are monitoring the situation of Madrid duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric.
