Report: Manchester United miss out on Torino defender Matteo Darmian

Bayern Munich beat Manchester United to the signing of Torino full-back Matteo Darmian, according to reports.

Manchester United have lost the race to sign Italian full-back Matteo Darmian, according to reports.

The Torino defender has been on the radar of Europe's top clubs for the past 12 months, and impressed for Italy at the 2014 World Cup.

However, The Express claims that the 25-year-old is not heading to the Premier League, as German giants Bayern Munich edge closer to an agreement for his signature this summer.

Right-back is a position that United have been linked with enhancing, with the likes of Seamus Coleman, Nathaniel Clyne and Dani Alves rumoured to be targets.

Darmian is expected to cost Munich in the region of £15m.
