Manchester United have reportedly begun negotiations with Ashley Young over a new contract.
The 29-year-old, who had been linked with a move to Real Sociedad in January, has just over a year remaining on his current deal.
However, ESPN FC claims that Young's performances as a wing-back have impressed United boss Louis van Gaal and the Dutch coach now sees the former Aston Villa player as a key part of his plans for the future.
As a result, it is thought that officials at Old Trafford have now opened talks with the England international over a new long-term deal.
Young has made 13 appearances in the Premier League for United this season.
