Manchester United, Chelsea to battle for Marquinhos?

Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly preparing summer bids for Paris Saint-Germain's Brazilian defender Marquinhos.

Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly preparing rival bids for the services of Brazilian defender Marquinhos this summer.

The 21-year-old, who can play at centre-back or right-back, has featured 24 times for Paris Saint-Germain this season as they stormed to the Ligue 1 title.

According to The Telegraph, PSG are reluctant to sell Marquinhos, who is valued at £40m, but may be prepared to do a swap deal rather than an outright sale.

Les Parisiens are thought to be interested in United's Memphis Depay despite his disappointing season, while they are also admirers of Chelsea's midfield duo Oscar and Eden Hazard.

Marquinhos moved to PSG in the summer of 2013 for £25m, making him the most expensive teenager in world football at the time.
