Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in pole position to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie when his contract expires this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in pole position to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie this summer.

The 25-year-old will see his current deal at San Siro expire in June and he is now free to sign pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in signing the Ivory Coast international, with the latter understood to have held talks with the player's representatives.

However, journalist Rudy Galetti claims that Spurs are leading the race to recruit Kessie when his deal runs out this summer.

Galetti adds that Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain and another unnamed Premier League club have all tabled contract offers for Kessie, with the former willing to offer a deal worth €8m (£6.7m) plus a further €2m (£1.67m) in bonuses.

Kessie, who is currently away on international duty with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations, has made 205 appearances for Milan across all competitions, scoring 35 goals and registering 16 assists.
