Southampton have reportedly made an enquiry regarding the availability of Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
The 24-year-old has struggled to displace David de Gea as United's first-choice goalkeeper this term, featuring in only four matches across all competitions.
Ralf Rangnick revealed earlier this week that Henderson has asked to leave Old Trafford in search of regular first-team football, however, United's interim boss has expressed his desire to keep hold of the England international.
According to Football Insider, Southampton have made contact with United about a potential deal for the goalkeeper in January.
Ralph Hasenhuttl is believed to be interested in signing another goalkeeper this month, despite having three experienced stoppers – Alex McCarthy, Fraser Forster, and Willy Caballero – in his first-team squad.
Henderson, who has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, signed a new five-year contract with United 18 months ago, and is earning over £100,000 a week.
