Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists that Paul Pogba will not be leaving Old Trafford in January.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that Paul Pogba will not be leaving Old Trafford during the January transfer window despite the ongoing speculation.

The France international was strongly linked with a move to the Bernabeu during the summer, but Los Blancos were ultimately unable to convince United to sell their star midfielder.

Madrid are said to be preparing to reignite their interest at the start of 2020, but Solskjaer has warned the Spanish giants that they will face more firm resistance.

"I don't listen to the president of Real Madrid. I watched their game at Paris Saint Germain and it was a big defeat. But Paul is working hard here and he is totally committed to Manchester United. I am not worried now - and I will never be worried in the future about Paul Pogba staying here," Solskjaer told reporters.

"If it all kicks off again with Madrid in January then there will be no worries then either. If we have to live with the speculation again then we will handle it like we did in the summer. Paul is going nowhere. He is happy here when he's playing."

Pogba, who is currently on the sidelines through injury, will see his existing contract at Old Trafford expire in 2021, although the Red Devils do have the option on a further 12 months.

United are said to be determined to open fresh talks over a new deal for the 2018 World Cup winner, who was also linked with a return to Juventus during the summer.
