Wesley Sneijder: 'Jose Mourinho told me to stay'

Reported Manchester United transfer target Wesley Sneijder has revealed that Jose Mourinho advised him to stay at Inter Milan.

The current Real Madrid manager signed the Dutch international during his spell in charge at San Siro and Sneijder has claimed that his former boss still holds Inter in high regard.

"Mourinho called me and he told me to stay. He has an Inter heart and he has always told me to remain," the 27-year-old told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I am happy to have stayed because I never wanted to leave and so I no longer want to speak about Manchester United."

Despite declaring his wish to remain with Inter, The Mirror has claimed that Sneijder could join the Red Devils in January.
