Southampton are reportedly willing to offload Jose Fonte in January if their valuation of the player is met, but they will rebuff any approach for fellow defender Virgil van Dijk.
The 32-year-old is understood to be a long-term target for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, while fellow Premier League side Everton have also been linked in the past.
Fonte took to Twitter earlier this month to reveal that he had not been offered a new deal by the Saints, with his current contract at St Mary's Stadium due to expire in 18 months' time.
According to The Telegraph, Southampton are only prepared to listen to offers for Van Dijk in the summer when a replacement centre-back has been lined up, though Fonte will be allowed to leave if a bid in excess of £6m is received.
Fonte was left out of the Saints' starting lineup for Sunday's 3-1 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, which manager Claude Puel said after the match was merely down to squad rotation.
