Report: Galatasaray plotting Antonio Valencia swoop

Reports in Turkey suggest that Galatasaray will make a £12.5m bid for Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia in January.

Galatasaray manager Roberto Mancini has been linked with a move for Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia.

The Ecuadorian international has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford since the arrival of new manager David Moyes, and some reports have suggested that he could be part of a potential deal for Everton full-back Leighton Baines.

According to Turkish sports paper Fanatik, the Toffees are interested in the 28-year-old, who joined the Red Devils from Wigan Athletic for £16m in 2009, but so too are the Super Lig champions.

The Italian, who was named as Fatih Terim's successor at the end of last month, is said to be keen on adding Valencia to his ranks at the Turk Telekom Arena, with reports hinting at a £12.5m move in January.
