Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is reportedly a transfer target of AC Milan.
The 33-year-old's current contract at Old Trafford is due to expire in the summer, when he would become a free agent.
Recent speculation has suggested that both parties are keen to reach an agreement over an extension to those terms, but if no compromise can be reached, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is prepared to swoop, according to Calciomercato News.
The report adds that Galliani is prepared to keep tabs on any negotiations between United and Carrick and he is no rush to make a move.
Carrick, who has been limited to 13 appearances this season because of injuries, joined United from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006.
