Ivan Rakitic's agent Arturo Canales plays down rumours linking the Barcelona midfielder to Manchester United.

Ivan Rakitic is "very happy" at Barcelona, despite reports linking the midfielder with a move to Manchester United, according to the player's agent Arturo Canales.

The Croatia international is rumoured to be a potential summer transfer target for United manager Jose Mourinho.

Rakitic joined the Spanish giants from Sevilla in 2014, and the club are believed to be keen to extend the midfielder's contract.

The player's representative has insisted that his client is content with life at Camp Nou.

"Ivan is very happy at FC Barcelona, where he has been tremendously successful and has a contract with the club until 2019," the Manchester Evening News quotes Canales as saying.

Rakitic has made nine La Liga appearances this season and has scored twice.
