Nick Powell has returned to Manchester United halfway through his unsuccessful loan spell at Leicester City.
The England Under-21 international forward joined the Foxes on transfer deadline day, but made only three substitute appearances for Nigel Pearson's side.
His playing time for Leicester totalled 40 minutes, and United seem to have decided that he would be better off spending the second half of the season elsewhere.
Bolton Wanderers are thought to be keen on bringing Powell down to the Championship, where he scored 12 goals in 41 games for Wigan Athletic last term.
The 21-year-old has made seven appearances in all competitions since joining United from Crewe Alexandra in 2012.
