Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will reportedly collect a loyalty bonus of £3.8m when he leaves Old Trafford upon the expiration of his contract in June.

It was confirmed by the Red Devils on Wednesday that the 29-year-old would leave United on a free transfer for a second time, having previously left for Juventus in the summer of 2012 at the end of his contract.

A return to Juventus has been heavily speculated about, whilst potential moves to Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also been discussed for Pogba, who brings an end a largely disappointing return to United in the views of many.

Now to rub further salt into the wounds of those connected with United, the French World Cup winner will collect a substantial loyalty bonus included within his terms signed back in 2016 when he leaves in June, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The report puts together a total cost of Pogba's six-year stay at Old Trafford, with it suggesting that the midfielder has cost the club as much as £219m during that time.

A then-world-record fee of £89m was paid to Juventus to bring Pogba back to the Premier League, whilst the Frenchman's late agent Mino Raiola collected a fee of around £39m for his negotiations in the deal that included a salary of around £8m per year.

Once image rights and all further bonuses are included, the report suggests that the total cost is well over £200m for Pogba, who scored 39 goals in 226 appearances for the club during his second stint.
