Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has insisted that he is ready to battle for a return to the Tottenham Hotspur team.
The Denmark international was heavily linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the summer transfer window, with a number of clubs thought to be interested in his services.
Atletico Madrid, at one stage, were thought to be confident of signing the midfielder, but Diego Simeone's side were ultimately unable to come to an agreement with Spurs over a transfer fee.
Manchester United are also believed to have considered moving for Hojbjerg as they weighed up alternatives to Sofyan Amrabat, who eventually made the move to Old Trafford on loan from Fiorentina.
Fulham also emerged as potential suitors late in the window, as the Cottagers looked at possible replacements for Joao Palhinha, who came close to joining Bayern Munich.

There remains speculation surrounding Hojbjerg's future, with clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia believed to be considering moves, as their transfer windows remain open.
Galatasaray are said to be huge admirers, but a recent report claimed that Spurs will not allow the Dane to leave outside of their own transfer window.
Hojbjerg has largely been a starter at Tottenham since his arrival from Southampton in the summer of 2020, but he has not been in the XI at the start of this season.
All three of the midfielder's league outings this term have come off the bench, although he did play the full 90 minutes against Fulham in the EFL Cup at the end of August.

Hojbjerg has another two years left to run on his contract at Spurs, and he has vowed to battle for a position in the starting side under new head coach Ange Postecoglou.
"In the end, the most important thing, and I have made this very clear to the coach and the club, is that I have to show my best side and deserve what I get from playing time," he told Bold.
"Right now I am not among the starting XI. It is what it is. I try to show my best side if the coach points to me."
Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr have been the preferred starting midfielders at Tottenham this season, while Rodrigo Bentancur is expected back from a serious knee injury in the not too distant future.
Hojbjerg has featured on 149 occasions for Spurs in all competitions, contributing 10 goals and 16 assists.
