Gerardo Martino insists that Cesc Fabregas will remain at Barcelona.

Gerardo Martino has insisted that midfielder Cesc Fabregas will remain at Barcelona.

Fabregas has been strongly linked with a transfer to Manchester United, but new coach Martino has revealed that he is "counting" on the Spaniard remaining at Camp Nou.

The 50-year-old told reporters: "Fabregas is a top player. We are proud to have him here.

"It doesn't matter what the offer from Manchester United is. We are counting on him.

"It is normal that many clubs are interested in Cesc, and that is a source of pride for us. But we will reject all bids."

The 26-year-old has made 96 appearances for Barcelona since returning to the club in 2011.
